Wireless TrackPro

Post by bonzatkb@gmail.com »

I agree with anyone who says that Naturalpoint has been in the business long enough to realize that a wireless TrackPro device is needed by the community. Currently I'm paying 70 Euros to a guy in Ireland who makes a wireless version of the TrackPro device. Thats about twice as much as the wired current TrackPro device made by Naturalpoint. Over the years I purchased three or four of these devices... I have two computer setups and I like having a backup. The device uses a rechargeable battery that is internal and can't be replaced. I read, in these forums, a response by a Natualpoint representative, to a similar concern, stating that a wireless version of the TrackPro device was a good idea, and that Naturalpoint would likely pursue that option... that was over a year ago. Any progress or have you changed your mind.

Hello bonzatkb,

NaturalPoint / OptiTrack is looking into how to make improvements on the TrackIR product line. A wireless TrackClip Pro seems like a great suggestion. While progress has gone more slowly than expected, we are optimistic that we will be able to make improvements sometime soon.

In the meantime, the TrackClip Pro can be connected to most USB power sources, such as battery chargers. This makes it possible to use the TrackClip Pro without being physically tied to the computer.

Kind Regards,
