Buying a used TrackIR 5
I have the vector expansion and currently use a Delan clip for tracking. Given the original tight registration of the unit and its software, would there be any problems using a second hand TrackIR 5 with my current installation? I.e. should I be able to just unplug the old and plugin the new without any software changes?

Re: Buying a used TrackIR 5
Hi Dilysmoor,
The Vector Expansion licensing is an outdated system which was only required for TrackIR3. The TrackIR5 is the current version of the TrackIR hardware and does not require the vector expansion license. If you currently own a TrackIR3, you can reach out to our sales team using the contact form on our website (https://www.trackir.com/help) to get a quote for the cost of purchasing a TrackIR5 unit. I would encourage trying to get this quote because they might be able to offer a discount if your TrackIR3 qualifies.
Note, TrackIR5 is made to be plug-and-play with the TrackIR software without any need to activate a license to get it to connect. However, if you do choose to purchase a second hand TrackIR, I would be weary of potential fake products which do appear in the market from time to time. Otherwise, if you do find a legitimate second hand TrackIR5, then it should just be able to connect to the PC and immediately interface with the software.
I hope this helps, please let us know if you have any additional questions.
