5.5.2 Startup Error

Post by Drewski »

After ~9 years of zero issues, auto-updated to 5.5.2 and now upon launch:

The code execution cannot proceed because mfc140u.dll was not found. Reinstalling the Program may fix this problem.
The code execution cannot proceed because CONCRT140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the Program may fix this problem.
*it repeats this again * The code execution cannot proceed because CONCRT140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the Program may fix this problem.

Reinstalled/repaired windows 11 OS
Reinstalled microsoft directx runtime
Reinstalled microsoft x64 redistributables
Updated NVDA graphics driver.

Backed up and wiped the appdata files, tried to go back to 5.5.0, 5.5.1, no change: Error on startup.

Hello Drewski,

Have you tried installing both the x64 and x86 versions of the C++ Redistributables (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=48145)?

I didn't try the x86. Installed just now and still same error.

Update:

Uninstalled TrackIR
Wiped appdata
Reinstalled 5.4.2
Reinstalled x86 Redist a 2nd time
Updated back to 5.5.2

Launches now!
I don't know what I did differently, but hope that mess of troubleshooting helps others that may have the same issue.
