TrackIR 5 suitable for mouse tracking ?

Post by Coral »

Hello

Is TrackIR 5 suitable for mouse tracking ?

I only need a camera which enables me to control the mouse of a computer, as the SmartNav4 did.
Nothing else as I don't need a dwell clicker.

I just need TrackIR 5 as a "mouse tracker" in order to use a computer for email, excel and google.

Thanks by advance for your answers!

PS: By the way, I am ready to buy any SmartNav camera if any of you have one.

Hello Coral,

The TrackIR does have a mouse emulation utility; however, it is very limited as it only works if the utility is the main window. Once you click on another window, the TrackIR no longer controls the mouse. We have another forum post that lists out a variety of alternative products that may suit your needs: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16552.

Kind Regards,

TrackIR 5 can be adapted for mouse tracking with third-party software, but it's not ideal for general use. Consider alternatives like the discontinued SmartNav (second-hand) or the Tobii Eye Tracker 5 for better compatibility.
