drivers & reasonable limits

Post by ncrapster »

I have had Vector Expansion for a couple of weeks now and am adapting to it. I found the FS2004 profile on this site useful as a starting point. However, I have one recurring problem: from time to time VE will suddenly flip me up on my virtual head in the seat, facing backwards! This may happen when I try to look down a bit too far, possibly concealing the lower reflector pair behind the top edge of the monitor. Recovery of my position - and wits - is simple enough: press the PF12 key to recenter, but spacial orientation and continuity is lost.

Note to developers of the inevitable next driver release: impose reasonable position limits! In reality - which is what this equipment is striving to approximate - pilots, drivers, game players etc. will never stand on their heads facing backwards!

Several threads on this one already. The latest and shortest is:

The problem stems from the reflectors pointing down slightly rather than directly at the camera if the hat is worn normally, coupled with the recommended distance being too close. Put the camera 2-3 feet from the reflectors and angle the hat up on your head and you should see the problem disappear, or at least be reduced to an acceptably rare level.
