I bought Falcon 4.0 many, many years ago but set it aside, as I prefer close-quarter dogfighting with machine guns or cannons to BVR missle assassination of unsuspecting enemies. But Track IR is so much fun that I decided to dust it off and try it again.
I downloaded and installed 1.08 patch, SP4, SP4.2 Hi-res (no small commitment, considering a total of well over 200MB and I'm on dialup) and the TIRF4 file. Set the resolution, object density and player bubble as directed. Read and followed instructions (though I can't figure out how to toggle out of F4 to start TIRF4, so I start TIRF4 up first) and have the blue and green lights on the camera. Even remember to go to virtual cockpit. But Track IR still doesn't control the view. What might I be doing wrong? Is there another game command I have to hit? Or maybe some configuration setting that I've missed?
Any of you blowtorch jockeys out there have any ideas? Shucks, I might even be talked into taking it online so you all can shoot me down. But not without TIR.
4/24/05...nm, got it working. I hadn't put a space between the 'exe' and the '-head' when I modified the shortcut. Everything's ok, now.
