That is not meant to be a flight recorder. That is only for specific use within the TrackIR software as means for troubleshooting if the device is failing or not.

I preordered my TIR3 Pro way back and then upgraded to vector when the update came out.
It has provided many hours of enjoyment not to mention extending my life as a virtual pilot in Over Flanders Fields amongst many other flight sims.
Because of the close comat involved, these AI WW1 pilots can be hard to keep a track on. Checking ones six isn't an option.

Anyway, while I was looking around trying some new configs out I remembered that I had seen a " record/playback button in the tools menu " a g e s ago.
Well, I am used to most of TIRs programing bits and pieces but this record/playback button was just begging to be pressed.

The picture I had in mind was record=big RED BUTTON do not press under any circumstances!

SO I DID !.....and.....well nothing happened! WOW !
Somewhat delflating I must admit. But wait! I had another one to press, yes thats right the playback which again told me not to press....and so on and so on.

SO I DID !.............and.....nothing happened!

But then again, why should it? What could it possibly playback what it hadn't already recorded?

So my question is. If this record button is pressed what does it actually record? If what it records is some kind of configuration txt file for fault finding. Then where is this to be found.

The playback button? Well what can I say?
I was so cheesed off with this not working either, I didn't even bother to give it a colour.

On the other hand is it used for lets say " returned TIR units so that you can check them in house? Then all will be cleared up and I will never press the tools button ever again.
Then I can get back to geting wasted on the front lines in my old crate.

I did a search on all the forums here for any other references to either record and or playback and this is the only post in any forum!
It has taken someone ( G7USL ) a long long time to query these record/playback functions. I joined so long ago that I couldn't remember my original user name! When I logged on again I was amazed that no one has asked the question before.

So what do they do then?

When you press record. Does this recording function and if so how long does it continue for? until I press it again?
Sorry for so many qestions Rick but I have been enjoying my TIR for so long with never a hint of a problem. A truly great piece of sim ware...

So what do they do then? honestly, come on spill the beans.

Oh wait a minute, you're going to tell me nothing happens! aren't you? Its in the software but for in house use only...aren't you?

Thanks for reading my somewhat l o n g post.

Strangely enough, since pressing these buttons my TIR takes much longer to boot up.
Hence my barage of questions. Its the unit logging a startup sequence or what?

Best Regards to the TIR team....a Great product.

EDIT

Member #4126? I was about #52 or something when I joined before. How time passes! Cheers once again everyone.
