Background. Tir(1) sold. Have Tir(3pro)V and (4pro)V.
I don't use my 3proV any more, in lue of 4.
But the other day I stepped on the 3proV clip, and snapped off one of the side reflectors. It was a clean break.
Does any one have a good idea of fixing this. I can solder(sp) but doen't know if it can take a solder(sp).
I'm assuming it is a metal clip that has a streathening fiberglass or something spayed on it.
I want to get this ready to use, or sell, but hate the thought of having it broke.
Thanks you any help.

Broken clip
Re: Broken clip
There is a FANTASTIC product called JB-Weld, it is a 2-part epoxy resin with metal added (if I'm not mistaken) The stuff is so strong I've heard stories of people repairing cracked engine blocks with it
It would probably be MORE than enough to repair your clip, how you would do it would depend on where it's broken.
If the reflector is broken off the end of the arm (that thin 90 degree bend) what I would do is cut a thin strip of 1/32" brass and make a 90 deg bend in it, and glue it under the arm with the JB Weld. Trim it so it won't stick out past the front of the arm, or above the top of the reflector. Let it cure overnight then glue the reflector to the part sticking up with more JB Weld, taking care to get it aligned properly.
If the arm itself is broken, I would cut a long strip of 1/32" brass to the same width as the arm and glue it to the underside of the unbroken part of the arm, with a length of it extending past the arm, let it cure, then glue the broken-off piece onto that bit that sticks out.
You can speed things up if you use JB-Weld's cousin JB-Quik, which is MUCH faster to cure. Like you've only got only 5 minutes to get things positioned, as opposed to a few hours. It's not quite as strong but that wouldn't be an issue.
Final suggestion: Don't step on it anymore Good luck, shouldn't be too hard to fix if you can cut a brass strip for reinforcement.

Re: Broken clip
Hey Coffee999,
Why not just go HERE and get a new one?
Nothing you do to the broken one will make it new again, just get a new one ($9.95) and the problem is solved.
( as long as you dont try to walk on it again )
