Universal Driver for TrackIR?

Post by roy »

Hi,

I'm very interested in the TrackIR 4 Pro, but it seems only a few games support it at present.

I have an idea about how to use the TrackIR with the current 3D RTS game, however I don't if it's possible or you guys have already get it done.

Well, the 3d glass stereo driver which has the ability to change the game view while the game itself didn't need to support the 3d glass, it's all done by the driver.

So how about we use this technique on the Head Tracker?

We can have new tracking mode for the RTS game or other ame which viewing the game scene from sky. When player move his head from left to right or up down, the driver changing the game view. and the game don't have to be in the TrackIR enhanced mode, the driver do the trick for us.

I'm not a big fans of fight sim games, I play a lot of RTS games, if you guy can do this, this Head Tracker would be great for many 3D RTS games.

Does the 3D Glass(es?) driver support a separate view control? or does it just tie into/share mouse control?

Just wanted to mention that we do offer mouse, keyboard, and joystick emulators - so you can use TrackIR in any game, in a way. We feel it is much preferable to have TrackIR support built in directly, as this opens up unique uses for TrackIR.

I have been talking with a developer about support in his company's RTS title, but it isn't clear yet if we should expect support. We will continue to pursue it though, and will post more when there is more to report!

Thanks for reply.
The first one is the hardest one, however, if you can get it work with a current popular RTS game title, that's would encourage other game developers, and much more game players will like this device.
How about write a mod for CoH(Company of Heroes) to support head tracking in Game? That's would make the battlefield a real 3D look, camera moved by head, not the Alt+Mouse.
