Updating to FSX kills FS2004 use in latest alphas
Hi all. I noticed a problem with FS2004 when the little patch for the FSX demo was launched. After applying the patch, TIR 4 on FS2004 stopped working. The enhanced mode is on, the movement seems to be detected by the sensor but the camera did not move.
I re-installed the drivers and everything worked ok again. I lost the FSX movement, but I prefer flying on FS2004 for now. I thought that was a problem of the "mini-patch", but...
My surprise was with the new ALPHA drivers. Not only FS2004 TIR movement stopped working, but also, FSX does not work too.
The new drivers work great on IL-2 Sturmovik and LOMAC, as always (now better. These drivers are better than ever) but FS2004 and FSX are "dead" with them.
I tried uninstalling, deleting registry entries, deleting my profiles and only using default...etc..but no luck.
Please, help!!!!!!

Thank you for the feedback, we will look into it.

OK, the issue is a file needs to be added to the Natural Point folder for FSX to work with the Alpha drivers. We are currently changing the download file and should have the update ready shortly.
As for not working in FS9, as long as your in VC mode, should work just fine with the alpha drivers.

Tnx for the fast answer.
Ok, the FSX problem has been spotted. I hope you upload the new install soon and solve it.
...but the FS9 bug is real (at least in my install). It does not work. I made a little trick and Ive solved the FS9 problem using the ALPHAS, but I dont know if (aparently not) the new ALPHA features are "blocked" doing it: I downloaded the game-support-files-20060905.zip on the main driver download page and unzipped it on the drivers install folder. Now, FS9 works but FSX is not avaliable on games list. Seems that TIRViews.dll is the key.
Also, and maybe caused by my little fix, the TIR program is not closed properly when I force it to close with right button.
I hope this FS9 problem could be solved.

FSX problem is solved on alpha 02.
FS9 is still wrong. The light is on and seems to "see" the trackhat, but no movement on cockpit.
I need to know one thing. If I use my "fix" for FS9 (using TIRViews.dll from .028 drivers), is still working the "True View" feature, or it is controlled by TIRViews.dll file ?
Tnx

Re: Updating to FSX kills FS2004 use in latest alphas
Are you using any 3rd party addons to FS9?
Re: Updating to FSX kills FS2004 use in latest alphas
Yes, but they are exactly the same as I used with 4.1.028 Final drivers and everything worked 100% perfect. The problem started in the exact moment the mini-patch for FSX beta was released, and continued until alpha 02.Are you using any 3rd party addons to FS9?
I asume you mean "modules" when you say "3rd party addons" I use Active Camera (of course I disabled it to check if was a problem caused by it), FSIPC, IVAO, FSNavigator..The usual addons of every FS9 fan.
Tnx
Re: Updating to FSX kills FS2004 use in latest alphas
Ive done lots of tests on the weekend, installing and uninstalling the drivers, changing the USB hub, etc, but the only way of making work the TrackIR unit on FS9 was using Tirviews.dll from 028 drivers.
The problem is that, using that file, the software does not close properly. I must use Ctrl+Alt+Supr, and even doing that, the light does not turn off.
Help!

Version 4.1.029 alpha 2 works for me in two separate installations of FS9 using FS9.exe, but TrackIR4 will not respond (no blue light) in Golden Wings installation of FS9 using FSGW.exe. Uninstalled and re-installed the software but still no response in Golden Wings.
