4.1.029a3 Causes Jitters in GTR2

Post by SJDickson »

I installed the 4.1.029a3 build in order to have TrackIR + Vector support in FSX. It works very well in FSX but it causes jitters in GTR2 whenever the framerate falls below about 25fps. When the framerate is above 25+fps, the tracking is smooth and fluid. By jitters, I mean the viewpoint spontaneously and randomly rotates and/or translates, as though the input is spiking. It can sometimes be quite violent and is very disorienting. This problem does not occur in any other games, including FSX, and the problem goes away if I revert back to build 4.1.028.

If you need additional information, please let me know.

Please contact Tech Support directly with the following information.

What is the Serial # of the device?
It should be located on the end of the cable, near the USB plug, or on the underside of the device.

Could you send us a copy of the Setupapi.log file?
It should be located in the C:\Windows folder

Could you attach a screen shot of your device manager, and tracking screen?

To make Print Screen work, you must save an image of what's displayed on-screen to the clipboard and then paste it into a document where it can be printed.

Windows Help: Print Screen

To do this, follow this procedure:

1. Maximize the window you'd like to capture.
2. To copy/capture the current window, hold down ALT + Print Scrn at the same time. To capture the entire screen, just press Print Scrn alone.
3. Open a new document in MS Paint, MS Word, MS Photo Editor, or Adobe PhotoShop.
4. Paste the screen shot by holding down CTRL and V at the same time.
5. Save the document as a .JPG or .JPEG file and send it in.

Thanks to Vincent at NaturalPoint, the problem has been resolved.

For reference, the problem was that I had not covered the reflector on the peak of the NaturalPoint baseball cap to which I have attached my Vector expansion clip and, as a result, the software was having difficulty determining which reflectors to use. A small bit of electrical tape over the cap's built-in reflector solved the problem.

Thanks for the prompt response, Vincent. Much appreciated.
