Getting your TrackIR to work in FSX

Post by Spidious »

I actually got the new FSX today and the IR would not work. I had downloaded the latest beta version alpha3 and it still would not work.
So i did a little investigation into the problem.

If you want it to work in FSX. First uninstall any version that you are currently using. Trying to install over the version you are currently using will not work ! Then install the latest version of Version 4.1.029 alpha 3 at http://media.naturalpoint.com/software/ ... pha.03.exe

Then it works amazing well ! You will be shocked at just how well it works. It even works outside of the plane !

WOW kudos to the developers of this program !

Hey Ho Spidious,
arent you lucky.. I've been there and done that several times and it doesn't work on my system. Why who knows? but the first time I loaded it (it seems a lifetime ago but its only 3 days) it worked fine but I think theres something wrong with the latest alpha 3.. I think I might have to reinstall the old '8' version and work up from there..

We are currently working on the issue, among several others, and hope to have more information posted soon.

F9, from what has been posted before, MS thought that we would like TIR to work in external as well as 2D pits. So unfortunatly, freezing TIR is the best method at the moment.

I don't use 2D pits, and TIR won't work for me at the moment, so I can't try what you are experiencing. But as I said, Vincent has said before, you have to freeze TIR.

Thanks for fast reply, disabling is no big deal i guess, 3d pit with tir is real immersive in fsx so many thanks for sorting update/drivers real quick.

Yea, the TrackIR now has some functionality in 2d-mode, as well as spot-view mode.
