Track IR 1 vs. Track IR 2

Hello All!

I am new to this forum and am very excited about the idea of using a TrackIR for flight simulation. I've found a "Track IR gx" used and am assuming it is a Track IR 1 (it looks different than the one currently sold).

Does anyone have any advice on the usability of a version "1" vs version "2" Track IR for this purpose? It is also just a bit unclear about software compatibility, also. At least one of the currently-downloadable versions of the software states it will support Track IR 1 but it is not clear what features will be different. The only hard data I've seen is a difference in sampling rate (60/s vs. 100/s).

Any advice much appreciated!
