Profile Advice

Post by btaft »

I am a new user of the TIR4 and have some general questions.

1) How long does it take to typically get used to using the device (i.e. When I want to look to the right I turn my head to the right but then need to look out of the corner of my eyes to see the screen)

2) Are there any recommended profile changes for noob use

I tried it for the first time last night with FS9 and thought it was the neatest thing in the world to be able to effectively lean my head out of the window and look to the front of the air craft

Any advice is appreciated

PS: I also plan on using it for driving sims, so advice is also welcomed on that front

1 - That depends on the individual, so people have it as second nature within about 30 minutes, and I've seen customers take about 2 weeks to make the adjustments to wear they like them.

2 - Take a look at the following link for or downloadable profiles.

http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/04- ... files.html

I would probably recommend the following ones for someone new. They have a "deadzone" in the center point, to add in stability, until you are used to the game effects and want to make your own profiles

FS 2004 - NaturalPoint Wayne
General Racing - NaturalPoint Wayne
GTL/rFactor - Dead Zone - Barred
slower IL2 - Barred

Generally, it is just a matter of making the adjustments that you like, and that work for you.

Enjoy!!!!!!

Hey vincent.... question.
I noticed you recommended the profile FS 2004 - NaturalPoint Wayne
When i loaded the page from the link you provided and looked at that profile... next to it says TRACKIR 3.

Now i have seen a couple other profiles for FS2004/Flying but they say TRACKIR 3 not TRACKIR 4. So i never downloaded any....

The one i used was from Jesus - FS 2004 - Optimized Flight - Jesus Altuve. He told me i could use his profile when i bought my TrackIR 4. So i did.... figured that would be a great place to start.

So what i am trying to ask is.... can i use also a TRACKIR 3 profile as you have indicated above?

Thanks

You can use any on the list, as long as it is the section for Version 4 Software.
