Trackir4 Software "not responding"
Trackir4 Software "not responding"
I have a new installation of trackir4 (I have tried .1.028 and 4.1.029). While the head tracking works, I find that no matter what profile I click on, the editor never opens and the software stops responding (per the task manager).
I am running Win XP Pro (SP2) on an AMD x64 machine w 1.5GB RAM. Any help appreciated.

Re: Trackir4 Software "not responding"
So, when you highlight the profile, in the lower section, then hit the edit button; nothing happens?
Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location, http://media.naturalpoint.com/software/ ... .Final.exe

Re: Trackir4 Software "not responding"
Vincent,
I have done as you suggested, but it does the same thing. When I select any profile and click edit, nothing happens. When I pull up Windows Task Manager (Ctl-Alt-Del) it shows the trackir software not responding.
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Trackir4 Software "not responding"
Even after the clean install?
With either version of the TrackIR software?
Custom profile, or default ones?

Re: Trackir4 Software "not responding"
Yes, clean installs including deleting the trackir directory and rebooting. This happens with .028 or .029. I am only selecting profiles that came with the software (such as Lock On or FS 2004).
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Trackir4 Software "not responding"
Select the actual profile that is being used, in the lower section of the Profiles tab, under were it says - Available Profiles; (i.e. - Default, Flight, Racing, Combat Flight).
Then select the edit button
Then select the edit button
Re: Trackir4 Software "not responding"
Still no go. I selected "Flight" under Available Profiles and clicked Edit. No edit window appears and the program locks.

Re: Trackir4 Software "not responding"
What other applications are you running in the background?
Please send me the following info...
Could you attach a screen shot of your device manager, and tracking screen?
To make Print Screen work, you must save an image of what's displayed on-screen to the clipboard and then paste it into a document where it can be printed.
Windows Help: Print Screen
To do this, follow this procedure:
1. Maximize the window you'd like to capture.
2. To copy/capture the current window, hold down ALT + Print Scrn at the same time. To capture the entire screen, just press Print Scrn alone.
3. Open a new document in MS Paint, MS Word, MS Photo Editor, or Adobe PhotoShop.
4. Paste the screen shot by holding down CTRL and V at the same time.
5. Save the document as a .JPG or .JPEG file and send it in.

Re: Trackir4 Software "not responding"
I think I sent what you wanted by email. I am not running other software (I run Enditall before loading Trackir). I am running a Saitek X52 joystick that requires the keystroke manager software to be memory resident.

Re: Trackir4 Software "not responding"
I just received my track IR, loaded it and started using it, but it wouldn't work with fsx. So, came to the site and got the version that supports fsx, uninstalled the previous one (which came with the hardware), and in installed the new one. It works for about 1 or two plane rides, but then, suddenly in game the graphics card starts stuttering as i'm looking around, my joystic completely drops out (older MS sidewinder force feedback game port based), and when I close FSX and then try to close Track IR, track IR will not respond or close via task manager no matter how many times I try to explicitly end the process. I'm wonderin if there is some conflict with the software and my joystick? It's not a graphics thing because before the track IR my joystick, thrust controller, and pedals all behaved with one another with no issue, and no graphics issues. It also affects audio as I can hear the sound skipping as the screen stutters... seems like maybe causing some interupt. Is the Track IR software multi-threaded? Should I try isolating the process to one or other of the procs on my dual core... or is there some update that might fix the issue, or perhaps a utility that might help assess what's going on?
