Hey,I'm currently having a problem with my trackIR 3 in that in all games after playing for about 5 mins the fps drops by at least half for about3 mins then is fine but it does this every 5 - 7 mins so its becoming rather anoying.
I,v got the original driver;s installed becouse when i use the new ones after about 10 mins it becomes very sluggish(not a fps drop, more like the precision mode but much slower) and i have to quit out and restart trackIR again, although after 10 mins it does it again.
The only thing i can think of is that my new graphics card(ATI X1950 pro) which requires a bloody huge amount of power is causeing the track ir to be under powered, although iv really got no idea.
Any help would be much appreciated
FPS dropping by half :(
Re: FPS dropping by half :(
Hi Skarden, it is possible that your card is drawing alot of power causing your problem, I would try a good powered hub and try using that even though normally a hub is not recomended for use with TIR.
Have a look at the size of your profile it should be abour 2k or so. I have heard of profiles 'exploding' in size and causing slow downs. The way to fix this is to make a note of your settings and delete the relevent profile and start again with a new profile.
Good Luck.

Re: FPS dropping by half :(
Also try disabling the Periodic News Check, under Options, in the TrackIR software.
Re: FPS dropping by half :(
cheers for the suggestions guys, it looks like it could be my power supply as it still doing it,although through the powered hub it seems to happen less.
Vincent, could the dropping frames be because of the power? has that ever come up before?

Re: FPS dropping by half :(
If the unit isn't getting enough power, several things can happen....
1 - The unit won't detect
2 - It will detect on the system, but Windows will not detect it properly, so it will not install the drivers.
3 - It will install, but it will behave erratically, i.e. weird movement, sluggish, etc......
