Is it OK to have one's TrackClip Pro permanently connected to the USB port of one's computer, or should one be disconnecting it when not using it? I ask the question because I see the TrackClip Pro's 3 (infrared? - is it infrared?) sensors "glowing".
I find the whole exercise of disconnecting and reconnecting quite a "hassle", and it would be nice to know that one can leave the device connected without having any adverse concsequences.
Thanks.
OK to be permanently connected to USB port?
Re: OK to be permanently connected to USB port?
Since the release of the Clip I have had my camera (TIR 4) plugged into the splitter and had both of them connected all the time with out any problems.
Since my first TIR (TIR1) the camera has always been plugged into a USB port. The TIR4 runs hotter than the others but still runs sweetly since I got mine.

Re: OK to be permanently connected to USB port?
It's been brought up before and leaving the TrackIR on creates no issues. It uses very little power and the LED lights have a VERY long lifespan.
Re: OK to be permanently connected to USB port?
Yup. I think Vincent said 10,000 hours as the normal powered life span of the LED's.

Yep, about 11 years is the LED lifespan.....
