hi I recently received a Mac and now need to use my SmartNav with it. How do I get the Mac software for free? Your Mac sister site only has a trial download of the Mac software.
Kindest regards, Chris
Software for Mac
Re: Software for Mac
The Mac software is developed by a different company, to work in conjunction with the SmartNAV line of products. The company that developed it, RJCooper, sells the software which allows the SmartNAV product to work in OS X.
Re: Software for Mac
Hi Vincent,
Just to clarify this, I now have to pay $169 for the software for a Mac from RJ Cooper even though I have bought 2 separate SmartNav units and accessories from yourselves for a total cost of around $700?
Like I said I have just been given a Mac by the company I work for that I need to use.
Surely you must be able to see that it is ridiculous? when you buy a SmartNav you should be able to get software that works on both Mac and PC included in the price!
Please advise
Chris

Re: Software for Mac
We designed the SmartNAV products to work originally in Windows 98SE. We then did futher development to the software for the different versions of Windows, up to and including Vista.
RJCooper company came along and said "I want to develop software for the MAC, is this ok". We ok'd it as he was doing all the software development for the product, and used his own programmers for the job. We have nothing to do with the software he created, and currently sells. I have never even seen it working.
