Cannot install software - TrackIR_4.1.030.Final.

I am trying to install the updated software, but I keep getting error number 0x80040707. Reading through the forum I see that several others have had the same problem. I tried cleaning out the registry, using the registry fix for the USB problem and finally resorting to using the original CD that shipped with the unit. I get the same error. I can't go forward or backwards with the software version. I have no TrackIR software installed at the moment. I uninstalled the old version. The unit is unplugged when I try to install the software. I have the TrackIR3 Pro with the Vector Expansion. The TrackIR S/N is xxxxx. I'm out of ideas. Formatting and reinstalling the OS (Windows XP) is not a good solution. Thanks for any help.

I got my TrackIR working by simply plugging it in to the USB port first and then installing the software. No error and my unit is working again.
