Hi,
A frined upgrade to TrackIR4 and gave me his TrackIR2 . I put it on Self Powered USB Hub (D-Link 7 port USB Hub, brand New). It crashes the computer. I have to connect it directly to the USB port on my Asus motherboard. Do the new TrackIR4 have this problem? Yes, I have the latest version of TrackIR Software for TrackIR2.

Re: TrackIR2 and Self Powered USB Hub
By self-powered, do you mean has it's own power supply, or runs of the USB power for power?
Have you updated the chipset drivers, and motherboard bios?
Have you turned of any power saving features on the USB ports?

Re: TrackIR2 and Self Powered USB Hub
Thank you TrackIR Support for responding to my post.
USB Hub
D-Link DUB-H7 (Has it's own power supply)

I had no problem with my Saitek Stick and Pedals plugged into the HUB. I did have the power saving checked enabled on all the devices, in the WinowsXP Control panel, devices, USB devices. All devices were all set to enable power savings mode.
So, After I moved the trackIR2 from the hub to my Asus motherboard USB ports, I went to the USB devices and unchecked the power saving mode for all USB devices. Just in case that caused the problem with the TrackIR2 to stop working while plugged into the USB HUB.
To find out if having the hub devices power saving mode disabled fixes the problem with TrackIR2, I will have to move it to the USB Hub again.
Thank you,
