Rippling effect

Post by Eagletail »

I'm having some difficulties with graphic "rippling" when panning with TrackIR 4 and TrackClip. It frequently looks like an old TV screen that can't catch up with itself, i.e. the image will ripple as I pan around both vertically and horizontally. Can this be due to a graphic card driver that's not updated? Thanks.

Most likely you are seeing this as you do not have v-sync turned on in your game. Look for an option in game to turn on V-Sync. If there is no option you can also force it on with you video card driver software. Google V-Sync to find out more.

Which gaming application are you running?

Which version of the TrackIR software are you running?

System OS?

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I've been having difficulties (screen tearing?) running TrackIR 4 + TrackClip Pro in Flight Simulator 9. Strangely enough, TrackIR works fine in FSX.

The system OS is Windows XP, and I'm using a NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS video card.

Any ideas? Can this have anything to do with V-Sync, screen tearing or drivers? And, most importantly, how do I fix it?

1 - Make sure you have the latest video card drivers installed.

2 - Do you have V-Sync enabled in the video card settings, within the Nvidia application?

3 - Do you have Anti-Aliasing enabled, or disabled in FS9?

4 - Are you running in windowed or full-screen mode?
