Vista Voice Commands not working

I have a new installation of Vista, and recently purchased a Smartnav.
I cannot activate Voice Commands. I get an error message saying 'the Speech recognition engine could not be initialized.' And: 'ensure that the microsoft speech recognition engine is installed on your computer.'

Well, it is, and it works. But SmartNav doesn't seem to know that.
Can anyone help me with this?

Did you purchase the Voice software add-on, when you purchased the SmartNAV product from us?


Is the Via Voice software currently installed?

Which version of Vista, 32 or 64-bit?

Hi Vincent,
I am in Australia, so purchased through a reseller here.
I have the SmartNav 3 AT, which I thought came with the voice option. Is that not correct?
My vista install in 32 bit Home Premium.

No the standard AT purchase does not include the Voice software, it is an add-on software purchase.

Ah! my misunderstanding. I thought it was the complete computer control, so would include it.
I don't suppose there is a downloadable version/product?

No, currently there is no download option.

I have a local supplier. And its ordered now. Its just that it cost me $6 to buy, and $11.90 to ship.
Of course, I would have got it in the original order if I'd guessed right then.
Maybe a download option could be organised.
