Another Vista FSX trackir problem.

Hi everyone, have waited until the release of SP1 before posting this, hoping that it was going to get my track ir working.. but sadly no.

I�ve installed deluxe fsx on vista 32 bit and am running a dual xp boot (I fly IL2 on XP with trackir 3, but there�s not enough room on that partition to run both).

On vista I�ve upgraded the lateset trackir drivers from the Naturalpoint website, and when I launch it, (right clicking as administrator) the trackir green light comes on, but the blue light (show it�s on and connected to fsx) never comes on. Hence no trackir with fsx.


Have tried EVERYTHING, working with files, settings and various �stuff�, including the simconnect folder, sdk, including reinstalling a few files from the FSX disc (thanks to some very attentive support from Vincent).

Have also both removed trackir (several times) and fsx and reinstalled. Have run the fsx repair utility a couple of times too.



No extra firewall software installed.. running AVG free edition virus software, 7.5.467.

On the trackir opening page it registers �Current game: none. Current Profile: Flight.

I can open up the tracking page and it�s actually tracking my hat/dot fine, but it�s just not connecting with fsx � SUCH a frustration!!

Here's another wierd thing, just installed IL2 on my vista install and trackir works there. So it definitely appears to be an issue between trackir and fsx.

IL2 works slightly different, as FSX uses the SimConnect from Microsoft, and IL2 has built in code.
