I'll add my voice - TIR3/VE and FSX/SP1 are a nogo

Post by luap »

Greetings,

I am in the same situation as others with my TIR3/VE and FSX/SP1. TIR works fine with everything else, but has ceased to work with FSX. Previously worked fine in FSX. Now, nothing, no blue light.

FSX was installed clean and then patched, not a patch over an old install - all directories deleted.

TIR has been installed clean as well. Removed program and folders. Reinstalled and patched to latest drivers per Vincent's advice.

Rebooted numerous times, ran CCleaner numerous times. TIR still inop in game.

TIR works fine, yet, in FS9.

What is the creation date for each of the following 2 folders.....

They are located here, C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS

And should look something like this...

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_
10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_
10.0.61234.0_x-ww_085e3cdd

I'm having the same problem with FSX on a clean install patched to SP1 and with TrackIR Vector Expansion version 4.1 build 30. No blue light or tracking although it works fine in other sims.
I have the following files:

19th October 2006
x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9

17th June 2007
x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61242.0_x-ww_35e8ee9a

Any idea please, It worked just fine before the reinstallation and SP1 upgrade.

Best wishes.

Do you have any 3rd party software installed?

OK, one step to try.

1 - Delete the following file folder

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9

2 - Insert the FSX CD, and run the repair utility. Basically we are looking to reinstall the folder.

3 - Hopefully this should remedy the issue.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thank you so much!!
That worked perfectly, I guess the old file was debris from the previous installation. Wonderful stuff!!
Best wishes.
