Hi. I am an experienced smartNAV user and have been using your product for almost 2 years. Recently (2 Months Ago) I started using my smartNAV full time at work 40hrs/week. I am extremely pleased with it. In fact it has enabled me to do a job I otherwise would not be able to do. I have chronic tendonitits in both arms and using a regular mouse, even for a few minutes a day, is no longer possible. I am a software developer fresh out of university and use a dual monitor setup for my daily coding routines. Within the last few weeks I have been experiencing persistent pain in my neck and have been doing everything I can to help heal as it is crucial for my career.
The pain originally started when I had my right monitor positioned so that i had to twist my neck significantly to see it and control the mouse cursor on it. I have since corrected this with both monitors properly adjusted for height, distance and minimal amounts of neck adjustment to see both screens. I have positioned my smartnav just on the far left corner of my right monitor(b/c its a CRT and the smartnav fits there best) and am wondering how others using a dual monitor setup have positioned theirs.
In addition, I have been doing Yoga and Massage therapy to lessen the tight knots which have formed in my neck and am desperate to do anything to heal. If anyone has ANY words of advice I would desperately appreciate hearing them.
Thanks in advance.
-Mike Linthorne
p.s. The combination of the smartNAV and Datahand keyboard have allowed me to continue a career path and lifelong love that I otherwise would be without. For this, I am eternally grateful. Thank you!
Neck Pain & Dual Monitor Setup
Re: Neck Pain & Dual Monitor Setup
I have mine setup up, in the middle of my dual monitors.
Re: Neck Pain & Dual Monitor Setup
I have mine now resting in the middle as well. I have been doing regular stretching and have had some massage therapy and my neck is feeling a bit better. I generally spent most of the day coding on my left monitor so i have it setup so that it requires the least neck strain to look at this monitor. I have another question for the smartNAV masses, who else out there uses their smartnav as their sole method of cursor control at a full time(40+ hrs) job?
Have you had any trouble in the past with neck pain? If so, what solutions did you undertake to correct it?
I love my smartnav and once again would like to state that without it i would not be able to continue my career path!
I would really appriciate some further discussion from full time smartnav users!

Re: Neck Pain & Dual Monitor Setup
I just thought id give and end of week update. After spending much time getting the optimal setup for my smartnav and dual monitors I think I may have successfully mitigated further problems. It is nearly the weekend and although I do have a scheduled neck massage this evening I hardly need it!
I am so happy this pain has receded. I am finally feeling confident I follow my dreams without physical limitations.
SmartNAV has been a real enabler and I cant go without mentioning the Datahand keyboard once again as it has been the combination of these two devices that has allowed me to use a computer again.
