TIR4 stopped working with FSX after reinstall

Last night I removed and reinstalled FSX to resolve an issue with software activation. After that the TIR4 wouldn't work in FSX. The main screen says its functioning and that vecter is active. The tracking views prove that it's working but the blue LED won't come on and when FSX is running, the TIR4 says no game is loaded and is in default profile. Does anyone know what happened and how do I fix it?
I'm running WinXP SP2 and FSX SP1. And no addons.

Are you running any firewall/anti-virus applications?

OK, one step to try�.

1 - Delete the following file folder

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9

2 - Insert the FSX CD, and run the repair utility. Basically we are looking to reinstall the folder.

3 - Hopefully this should remedy the issue.

That worked perfectly. It's hard to play a flight sim once you get spoiled by these trackIR's.

Oh and yes I am running McAfee Security center in the background and I don't think it's ever caused any conflicts that I know of. It may be dropping my frame rate a little but not enough to drive me nuts.

Sometimes the security software can interfere with the TCP/IP communication that FSX uses to talk with itself, so make sure that TrackIR, and FSX have full access within it.
