Help installing new 2.50 software

I'm having a strange problem after installing the 2.50 version of NaturalPoint.

I'm am running XP Pro on a new Dell 8300. I had Version 2.14 installed before and it was working except the click switch was giving me double and tripple letters using the on screen kbd. So I d'led the new 2.50 software to try and fix the problem.

I un-installed 2.14, rebooted, then installed 2.50 following all directions. When I plug the usb cable in i hear the beeps confirming operation. I click the icon and everything works great. It even seems to fix my click switch problem.

However, after I shutdown the machine and turn back on the next day, I click the icon and it starts NaturalPoint - but the tracking is all messed up. I move my head and the pointer moves in a delayed fashion and becomes so eratic it is impossible to point at any given object. I have to get someone to use the regular mouse and shut it down.

Any ideas why this is happening? I run fine the first time it installs, untill I reboot - then it gets messed up. I have un-installed/installed several times all with the same result. I finally just put 2.14 back.

I really need this to be dependable because I can't use the regular keyboard or mouse. I would have to wait for help to arrive if the machine ever re-boots.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Hello Sir,

Can you give me the serial number of your unit??

Also, How are you logged on? As Administrator or as a user? If logged on as a user, what are the privileges or rights set to?

I would also like you to do a simple test first.

#1 Reboot the system and Logon as Administrator
#2 Uninstall the 2.14 version
#3 Reboot two times logging on as Administrator each time.
#4 On the second reboot, Install the 2.14 version - Start the Smart-NAV software and see how it behaves.
#5 Reboot and logon as Administrator
#6 Start the Smart-NAV software and see how it behaves again.
#7 Reboot the system and logon with your regular username.
#8 Start the Smart-NAV software and see how it behaves now.

Are there any differences?

you can also send email directly to us at: support@naturalpoint.com

Thank you,

Donald
