SmartNav or Trackir

Post by jfgutierrez »

Hello,

Actually, I have a naturalpoint camera with serial 3977 and dont work like a mouse in windows Vista.

I am interested in acquiring a new smartnav camera. In my Country, its easier to buy a trackir camera than the Smartnav one.

If I buy the trackir camera, Can I use the software of the smartnav and move the cursor like an alternative mouse?

Can I use smartnav in windowsXP and Vista?
Will be compatible with smartnav 4?

Thanks in advance

Currently the TrackIR is only designed to be used within gaming applications, it can not be used as a mouse replacement device. That is what the SmartNAV is designed to do.

The current SmartNAV products work in both Windows XP, and Vista OS.

I have read that you are preparing a new smartnav. Then, what must I do, buy a smartnav3 now or wait for the smartnav4?
Are there any differences of hardware between the 2 versions?

Yes there are differences in the hardware.

We currently do not have a release date, for the SmartNAV 4, but we hope to have it out shortly......
