No device detected under Vista 64bit - help
I have a TrackIR 4, TrackClip Pro, Vista Ultimate 64bit (Intel Quad Q6700, Asus Striker Extreme 680i mobo), NVidia 8800 GTX, DirectX 10 (tried 9 too), and 2GB memory. TrackIR works fine on my XP machine (so the device is fine) but on Vista it installs the software but the driver isn't recognised. I've tried installing using the CD and also downloading the latest version (which is the same as the one on the CD). I tried installing the software with the device connected and unconnected. It said it couldn't verify the device signer but i selected the "install anyway" option.
With device unplugged, install 4.1.030 software (from cd)
After install plug in TrackIR (with/out TrackClip gives following same result)
Driver software installation in progress window appears above the tray. Clicking window shows NaturalPoint TrackIR 4 failed to install.
In device manager under USB controllers the driver appears with yellow warning triangle on the icon.
Properties dialog says
Location: Port_#0002.Hub_#0003 (tried several)
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
driver tab says
driver date: 06/12/2006
driver version: 3.2.30.0
driver signer: Not digitally signed
driver file is c:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\npusb64.sys
The TrackIR device has a blue flashing light at the bottom (if the TrackClip is plugged in the LEDs are red).
Can someone shed some light please? This is most vexing.

Hi, I've vista 64 and I had the same problem. I've tried the CD drivers and the 4.1.034 beta.

Vista64 problem also. Was working under XP and Vista 32bit.
The software version 4.1.034 beta installs. Plug in the device and I recieve the "found new hardware" box but it is unable to find a driver.
Pointing to either the driver sub folder in the Program Fils (x86)/natural point folder or the win/system32. Nothing is found by windows.
If I start the application it shows "No Device Detected"
TrackIR 4 Pro with the Vector Clip
S/N 042107
I am installing under the Admin account and have tried with UAC turned off and on with no positive results. This has been tested in all USB ports.
If someone has an idea it would be appreciated.
Thanks
James Bryan

Re: No device detected under Vista 64bit - help
OK, it appears that there was an issue with the beta1 drivers, and a file got left out of the build, when they put the installer together. We have updated the beta software, and have tested it internally on Vista 64.
