So, I noticed a whole set of functions and such for dealing with two switches.
I also noticed the note in the docs that the switches are not brought out to a jack on the current hardware.
What are these switches exactly? Do they have a purpose beyond a user defined functionality? Are they flipped internally by the cameras or drivers, or are they in theory open should they ever be physically exposed?

The only hardware that has switch input capability is our SmartNAV line of cameras. The inputs are used for plugging in "ability switches" for hands-free computer control such as performing mouse clicks by pressing a foot pedal. When other cameras are connected the switch parts of the API are not active. We will add some additional clarification to the docs about what these are used for.
