Suddenly "red dot" in the tracking screen

Hi team,

Have TrackIR Pro V4.00 Love it! I've been using it with IL-2 mainly and wouldn't go near a sim without it nowadays.

Yesterday I upgraded my system from Vista Ultimate 32 bit to Vista Ultimate 64 bit and have since had a small prob.

As you will be able to see from the image below, it looks like the top sensor on my Track Clip has stopped working. This causes all sorts of problems as you could well imagine. In addition, the image on the side is new too. I took the screenshot while sitting in a darkened room to minimize light getting in the way:



I have had my product about a month or so and given the price have looked after it very carefully indeed.

Well the top sensor one is still work, hence the reason it is red. The issue is that the software is issuing the new one (new since 64bit) as a point for tracking, which is causing it to behave erraticlly.

1 - check to see the angle of the camera.

2 - Is the red IR LEDS on, on the camera itself?

3 - Under View -> Tracking -> Settings, what is the light filtering set to?

are you smoking? or is there a reflective surface on your cap?

Hi Vincent,

Is it normal to have a small amount of red as you move the headset around - perhaps due to some small amount of light reflecting off the TrackClip Pro itself? My LED's are off, and my light filtering is 130. I'm making sure there's not too much ambient light around me, and my TrackIR4Pro camera is mounted upon my 22" Acer flatpanel

It could be reflecting off the bottom of the plastic. You can try placing a little piece of black electrical tape over the plastic arm.
