TrackIR software stopped recognizing running games

Post by jimthomasjohnston »

Hi am having the exact same problem as this guy (Post # 27128):

My trackIR worked flawlessly until a few days ago. Now it still works (tracks on the profiles screen), but when I start programs, it no longer recognizes them, doesn't work in game, and doesn't even respond to it after re-install. I have not changed anything in the system. Hope you can help!

Please Help.

What gaming applications are you using?

What version of Windows?

In the following folder location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Profiles, what is the file size for each profile?

The game that I have been using is MSFS 2004 9.1. Never had a problem until just a while ago. I am running Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1, Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254 : Service Pack 2.

In the following folder location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Profiles, the file size for each profile is 2 to 4 KB.

Make sure you have the standard language.dll installed with FS2004. Some custom versions of the DLL remove strings required by TrackIR.

Ensure that the notification messages in FS2004 are turned on. The notifications appear in the upper right corner in red when switching to the virtual cockpit. The setting is found in your fs9.cfg file located by default in:

c:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9
[Main]
HideInfoText=0

The notification messages in FS2004 was turned off i.e. it was "HideInfo Text=1". Changed it, re-started and now it appears to be working fine. Thanks ALOT :)
