Sorry REALLY can't help you.
I have just created an account to fix this very issue!
It HAS worked in the past, and still does for all of my other games.
So, anyone???

Re: FSX Blue light
What OS are you running?
What version of FSX?
Any add-on applications installed?
Any firewall/antivirus software installed?

Re: FSX Blue light
Do you have a simconnect.xml file installed on the system?
OK, one step to try.
1 - Delete the following file folder
C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.............
2 - Insert the FSX CD, and run the repair utility. Basically we are looking to reinstall the folder.
3 - Hopefully this should remedy the issue.
Please let me know if this helps.

Re: FSX Blue light
Make sure it includes the following text..........
Also if you are making changes to the SimConnect.xml file, to allow ASX to function, this can then break SimConnect from functioning locally as well. This is resolved easily with applications such as FSUIPC, which when reinstalled add the local settings back into the xml file.
To remedy the issue, with 3rd party hardware/software, you need to have the local settings stay defined within the .xml file.
Example -
SimConnect
SimConnect.xml
False
*****************
False
Auto
local
64
4096
False
*****************
False
IPv4
global
XXXXXXX

4096
False
