Just can't win. Reconfigured and re-installed ALL my software on a WinXP Pro machine. 2GB Intel Core 2 Duo 6420 OC'd. Nice outdated system. What one isn't the minute it's released? This included FS2004+
Radar Contact, Flight Keeper, FS2Crew, LDS 767, Saitek controls, all kinds of scenery and now TrackIR. Before redoing the system, had it all running (without TrackIR) at 50% memory throughout a 10 hr flight. Tonight I blew up 20 miles from KPHX after 5 hrs from PHNL. This used to happen until I fixed it without writing down what I fixed. Bummer. Now it could be the old empty Texture file problem (have looked, haven't found any) that causes MSFS to pre-allocate memory for scenery/texture when there isn't any to pre-allocate for. Tonight all was at 80% until 20mi from KPHX then that wonderful dong of the crash due to memory. The dump pointed to TrackIR, but my bet would be it was the innocent bystander. Any thoughts. I cannot afford a real computer (Intel Quad Extreme, etc w/DirectX 10) now so want to fix up FS2004 for one more year...like keeping a MGB on the road (ok, if someone gives me a Miata... well). I'm happy with it and I hate Vista (just enough different from XP to be thoroughly annoying). Nothing like releasing an opsys before its time. So any help will be much appreciated.
Peace Love and ....well you know if you're my age,

I've never encountered that error, myself......
