Hi,
I'm not sure what information to put in this post, except that the Arena software is running just fine, but the rigid body calibration tool is getting about 1 frame every 5 seconds. I suspect this could be a connection problem, is that possible with rigid body even if arena is really responsive? Let me know what else I should include to help solve this problem.
Thanks.
EDIT:
Oh, and sometimes in the calibration screen the synchronization will flash to not synchronized for a second or two, then back.
Very low framerate with Rigid body calibration tool
Re: Very low framerate with Rigid body calibration tool
I can add a small detail to this (I'm working with the same system as ChrisH). It appears that the cameras might be in a mode where they are sending grey scale image data rather than point data only (is this normal?). I would also confirm that we are running the latest version of the rigid body toolkit, except that there doesn't seem to be an "about" dialog to confirm this.
Re: Very low framerate with Rigid body calibration tool
The easiest way to reset the cameras is unplug & replug them. Give that a try and see if that resolves the issue.
Re: Very low framerate with Rigid body calibration tool
If you guys have Arena, I would make sure you download the latest version, 1.1, just out of Beta (has calibration imporvements from 1.0) and use it to create your calibration file. The calibration files are compatible between the programs. That could be a quick way to make forward progress and then we can work on what is wrong with the calibration tool.
Re: Very low framerate with Rigid body calibration tool
Ok, so some progress.
Before the original post I had tried unplugging and replugging cameras and rebooting the computer, but the update to 1.1.0034.0 seems to have fixed the problem. I do notice once extra marker showing up in one of the cameras even though the image is a dark grey (perhaps a funny reflection visible in only one pixel?).
In any case, the new problem, we were running 1.1.0033.0 before and now our existing Arena data doesn't load anymore. In fact, I can't even load the calibration file. I get the prompt to select cameras, and I click OK with all 6 cameras checked, then the message "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in Arena.exe [3400]". Here is a link to the calibration file.

Any ideas?

Re: Very low framerate with Rigid body calibration tool
I'm wondering if anyone could test the calibration file I provided in as a link in my previous post. For me it crashes 1.1.0034.0, even though it was created with 1.1.0033.0.

Alternatively, can the old versions of arena be downloaded from the natural point site? It may be important for us to downgrade to get access to our existing data.

Re: Very low framerate with Rigid body calibration tool
The latest version of Arena and the Tracking Tools goes alongside of OptiTrack 1.1.00.34. Unfortunately they can not be mixed and matched. Also, because we're supporting higher camera counts now, the calibration file (.CAL) changed and they are not backwards compatible.
If you do downgrade Arena, make sure to appropriately downgrade the OptiTrack SDK.
We are planning on removing the OptiTrack SDK requirement for Arena so that it doesn't require the OptiTrack SDK installed alongside of it. This will hopefully come along in the months to come.
