Camera orientation

I have a six camera setup. Is is possible to mount the cameras upside down? I only ask because I read in a post where in a 8 camera set up, to run the lower cameras sideways. The reason I ask, I am setting up in a garage with exposed roof trusses and would like to mount them with the standard screw (on the bottom of the camera), to the trusses. I'd have to invert them to do that. I may not fully understand how the software works with the hardware.
