Help with setup please

Post by osabando »

hi, I had been using the optitrack for some months now, first we used it with a 6 camera setup, but we had some problems with the capture, we recently bought 2 extra cameras to solve the problem, our first test with the 8 cameras was done with tripods and we got better results, now we got the wallmounts and i think we can improve the system by taking advantage of the increased capture area.

Im attaching a picture with the dimensions of our studio,

I'll like the people from natural point to tell me what will be the best setup for the space i got, distance between cameras and height of the lower and upper ones

also, does the capture space have to be perfectly square or can it be a little bit rectangular,

thanks,
Oswaldo

Placing them in a rectangle will work just fine. No side of the rectangle should be larger than 6 meters.

One possible setup configuration would be 2 cameras per corner -

Upper cameras around 2.5 - 2.75 meters, lower cameras around 1.8 meters, rotated 90 degrees.

thanks, i'll try that...

just one more thing...
my smallest wall is 6.65mts and my wallmounts are short (like 15cm long), so i'll have to go just a little bit further than 6mts...(like 35/40cm)

do you think that will be an issue?

With the rotated bottom cameras, you should be fine.
