Speech recognition engine not found
I've installed the speech recognition engine, but Smartnav says it can't initialize it and that I need to install it...
Re: Speech recognition engine not found
Please let me know what version of the software you are running. When/Where did you download it?
We revised the software to run with the IBM Scansoft engine, you may still be using the Microsoft engine.

Re: Speech recognition engine not found
"The software" meaning "the Smartnav" software? I downloaded it from your website today.
Re: Speech recognition engine not found
The voice engine is not included with the software download on our website.
It is an extra feature, and a rather large download. If you would like a voice clicking CD it is $5.00 and is currently listed on our SmartNAV webstore.
Thanks,
Kevin

Re: Speech recognition engine not found
Why do I need a voice recognition engine from you if I already have the Microsoft one and Dragon Naturally Speaking?
Re: Speech recognition engine not found
If you already have dragon installed then you would not need our speech recognition engine. All ours does is allow for voice clicking, it is just commmand and control, not speech to text.
Re: Speech recognition engine not found
When I click Use speech recognition in SmartNAV, it says that the recognition engine cannot be initialized and that I need to ensure that Microsoft speech recognition is installed. I have installed Microsoft speech recognition so why does SmartNAV continue to say this?
Re: Speech recognition engine not found
The software, build 28, you are using was built to use the IBM Scansoft engine specifically. When you click on the Voice Recognition option it is trying to locate and intialize the IBM engine which is not present.
Dragon (which you mentioned you have installed) should be able to do voice clicking independant of the SmartNAV software.
