Conflict with wireless keyboard
Conflict with wireless keyboard
My wireless keyboard performs erratically when Smartnav is connected.
Re: Conflict with wireless keyboard
Will you please be more specific?
What is the serial # of your unit, what version of software are you running?
Are both units plugged into a USB hub or directly to the computer?
What kind of erratic behavior?

Re: Conflict with wireless keyboard
Some of the keys on the keyboard don't work when the mouse camera is connected. As soon as I disconnect the camera, they work again. The serial number on the camera is 37746. I'm using SmartNAV version 3.2 build 28. The units are plugged into a USB hub. Laptops don't come with an unlimited number of built-in USB ports.
Re: Conflict with wireless keyboard
Have you verified that the keys that are not working are not set to be Hot Keys in the SmartNAV software? The SmartNAV will trap keys that are set to be HotKeys.
If this is a problem you can use modifers such as Ctrl + X etc..

Re: Conflict with wireless keyboard
Is it just a few keys that repeatedly don't work? or is different every time?
(I'm assuming the keys on the laptop itself work fine, but when you plug in the wireless it has the problem)
If it's the same few keys evey time I'd check if the smartnav's "hot keys" are assigned to those keys. Even if you aren't using them, they may be the root of the problem.
If it's random keys, i'd guess there's a problem with USB power. If possible, plug either the SmartNAV of the wirless keyboard directly into the laptop. If that won't help, it may be necessary to get a USB hub that has it's own power.
(but i'd check the hot keys first)
