TrackIR 4 - Unsupported Camera Error

Post by Warmbrak »

Hello,

I just stumbled upon an error with my TackIR 4, running 4.1 Build 30, then I upgraded to Build 34, but to no avail. I am running Windows XP Pro SP3. Things were working well earlier tonight, and whilst centering the view, my PC hard locked. Upon restart and firing TrackIR up again, I got the error: "The attached camera is not supported". Clicking ok, the main screen claims that my TackIR license is not valid, and it won't track at all.

I tried a different USB port but it did not change anything. There does not seem to be any connectivity problems, as by default the red led is dim and the blue one flashes intermittently as in normal inactive mode. Any ideas or feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Fred

Please sent the following information to support ----

What is the Serial # of the device?
It should be located on the end of the cable, near the USB plug, or on the underside of the device.

Have you tried the device on another system?

Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?

Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

Could you attach a screen shot of your Device Manager (showing USB), and tracking screen (TrackIR software -> View -> Tracking)?

OK, so it is working in the tracking screen, and the heads view, but not in any of those gaming applications?

Tried ruunning both the TrackIR and the game, as an admin (right click on the shortcut -> select run as admin)

Is Blackshark on the games list?

Yes, working in the tracking screen, in the heads view, and in the gauges view(only 2DOF), but not in any of those games. When running both, the tracking screen work and the heads wiews standstill. Blackshark is in the game list.
This thing work perfectly last week.
In the main Tir windows, device info: TrackIR Unknown : xxxxx (correct serial)
under expansion box : license file is not valid.
