Hi all,
I'm thinking of buying SmartNAV
I am basically 'addicted' to the keyboard and find it very disturbing taking off my hands sometimes for simple mouse operations
Some will say I'm spoiled, but this is a very common 'problem' for power-users...
I have 4 questions before buying:
1.
Can SmartNAV work with a regular mouse parallelly?
Sometimes my colleagues sit and work on my desktop and I want them to have a regular mouse also.
2.
If I buy, I will probably use the rings...
Watching the video, I got the feeling that while normally typing the keyboard, the ring might 'confuse' the SmartNAV, can it happen?
Do the rings have any side effects compared to the other dots?
3.
Is there a way to activate and de-activate SmartNAV by pressing a specified keyboard shortcut?
Sometimes I will want to point at the screen without having the cursor moved by the ring...
4.
If I decide to use the dots, can I put them on my glasses (on the bridge) ? can I put them on my hair (!) (above the foreground)?
Thank you for taking your time and reading my post

Re: Questions before buying
I got the SmartNAV for two days now, but I can tell it works very well with both the SmartNAV and a mouse connected simulteneously. The ring works like any other pointing device, if you move it, the cursor will move accordingly, but it won't do anything until you use a click action. You can "de-activate" the SmartNAV with the pause button.
You can assign any keys to the actions you want. The dots will stick to anything, if it can stick to your forehead, it certainly will stick on material. I wouldn't use the dots for disposable use though, it's going to cost you on the long term. I myself like the Trackhat, well, turned 180 degrees that is. I look so much cooler.

Re: Questions before buying
Hello Eyal,
Kingrudolf answered all of your questions, thanks!
To summarize:
1. SmartNAV will work in conjunction with any PS2 or USB mouse/switch
2. The rings are just a plastic ring with some reflective tape on them. They work the same as the dots, just on your finger.
3. The SmartNAV has a pause function that can be toggled with a keyboard hotkey.
4. The dots are a 3M reflective material with a cloth backing coated with a nice tacky adhesive and can stick on pretty much anything and can even be re-used.
