Back hurting from SmartNAV..?

Post by Kingrudolf »

I've been using the SmartNAV for a couple of weeks now, and I was quite satisfied. I could play games again perfectly. However, I encountered a dilemma.

After some use, I got the typical neckache, but after some time that eventually disappeared. I am a person who cannot sit still on a chair, I'm constantly changing position. When using the SmartNAV I did not feel like getting a sore neck, so I decided to put the "sit up straight" advice and it worked.

However, with this static position, every time I move my head either up or down I can feel the muscles in my lower back tighten, and eventually hurt. After some hours using te device I'm getting some very annoying backpain. I'm really wondering here, because I never, and when I say never, I mean never had backpain from using my computer before.

Obviously this is not good publicity for the SmartNAV, or, I am doing something terribly wrong. I'm taking my problem to a proffessional fysio forthcoming tuesday, see I can get some result. But I feel that it just can't be a coincidence. I thought it might go away, but it's coming and going, and it's really worrying me.

Just for the record; I have no intention to sue you or anything (that'd be just wrong), but I would really appreciate some feedback here that'll make me feel more confident about the issue, and perhaps it is for you important to know for future considerations.

I'm putting the device away for a week, and see if something happens. Ergonomics might be an important issue for proper usage of the SmartNAV and it might be something to pay more attention to before using the device.

I'll let you know ow things work out.

Greetings, Rudolf.

Hi Rudolf,

Have you gone through the different tips listed on this thread:
http://forums.naturalpoint.com/cgi-bin/ ... 4;t=000124

The key is to remain relaxed, perhaps intentionally changing posture positions when using the device.

Please let us know what the fysio says.

Thanks,
Kevin
