SmartNAV switch problem

We have a simple program for a small child. Point mouse cursor at a drum or bell. On pressing the left mouse button a drum or bell is heard, depending on which instrument the child points to. The program works perfectly with a conventional mouse.

When the program is used with SmartNAV by a 3 year old quadriplegic child the mouse cursor moves perfectly - BUT on pressing a switch connected to SmartNAV's left-mouse-button socket no sound is heard. Instead the mouse cursor jumps 2 inches to the right or left!

Any ideas on the cause and/or cure.

Unable to give the SmartNAV serial number at present, as the unit is at another location today.

Hello,

We would need to know the SmartNAV serial # and software version to try and reproduce this.

I would make sure if you are using a single-action switch that you are also using a y-cable.

Does the switch work correctly when it is outside of the simple program? Can it perform clicks in windows?

Thank you for your reply. The problem has been solved. The labels on the Y-connector supplied with SmartNAV were the wrong way round. By plugging our switch into the one marked "right" the program responded perfectly, as if we were pressing the left mouse button.....
