Hi All,
I just received my trackir and can't install the software. I am using Vista 32bit (SP1)and get error 0x80040707, after many days searching for answers I am totally stumped. I have tried the software from the website and install CD (All versions that are available)
I have searched MS site and there are only 2 entries none of which are relevant. I have tried installing in safe mode, UAC off, Admin...everything So I finally fired an email to the TrackIR support...they emailed me a link with Yahoo search results! About as helpful as a wooden frying pan...
Any one have any ideas? I am just going to have to return it otherwise which I really don't want to do but it's just a useless waste of money to me at the moment!

Have you tried creating a different user on the system, and installing the software?
We have seen this issue with installShield, and a glitch in the registry. Some people have had to do a clean install of the OS, some have had sucess in checking the installshield files for the NaturalPoint install and deleting it.
before making any changes to the system or registry, please backup the system.
