It informs me that the system optitrack is a good system but against that there is a lot of retouching curves has done! Is this really the case?
you lose a lot of time repairing the curves
retouching because not accurate! Is that true?
So I wonder if this is a good purchase to do
cleaning curves nightmare
Re: cleaning curves nightmare
I'm not sure exactly what you are asking? Is there a specific source of information you are referring to, as well?
There can be some data cleanup involved in optical mocap systems, it depends on the number of cameras you have (more cameras/less occlusion) and the quality of your camera calibration. Typically, the data captured has good fidelity. Optimal capture volume setups can also help entirely remove or minimize gaps.

Re: cleaning curves nightmare
yes that's it: thus the cleaning work is very limited with your system if the calibration is good.
ok, with 6 cameras is sufficient to have data of good quality without having to touch up the curves or it's better to have more cameras

Re: cleaning curves nightmare
Well 6 cameras, with a good calibration can give you good results, but more cameras can always help out with accuracy and with marker occlusion that you can get with fewer cameras.

I originally had a 6 camera setup and worked really well, the trick is to get your cameras setup at the best possible configuration and it is essential to get the best calibration possible.
You can see samples of my work here: (this was captured with a 6 camera system with minimal cleanup)

Since then, I've upgraded to 8 cameras and have gotten much better results, as Vincent mentions, the more cameras, the better your captures will be

Re: cleaning curves nightmare
I see your work Brian, if it is the result we may have with 6 camera that makes me a little scared: you had calibration problems or is something else: the characters flying. you do not use it with motionbuilder?
Or you made the motion capture and then you have animated by hand the rotation from the mouse?
it's fun as animation
Thanks for your samples it's helpfull
otherwise if you have a quick example with a quick movement and foot steps.
I'm interested (with 6 or 8 cam only)
thanks Bryan

Vclaes:
All the problems I had with the mouse had to do with the character itself in Poser, not with the quality of the data captured by the Optitrack system. (if you could tell me exactly what part was it that you were looking at). If it is the part where the feet are sort of floating on the ground, that was caused by the way Poser imports bvh data and tries to scale it to the figure.
This does not happen with all characters, only to this particular one (the creator had to give me a Python script to correct it as much as possible) I do use motionbuilder and 3dsmax for most of my other work, but in this case I used Poser. (I was just being lazy... to be honest)
Let me look thru some of my other captures and I'll send you some samples... send me an email to bryan@kkstudio.us and I'll get them for ya..
thanks!
