TIR in BOB2: WOV and COD 4

Post by David A »

Hi

I received my TIR 4 Pro a couple of days ago. I purchased it to use with IL-2 1946, and it's been fantastic. The ability to maintain visual contact with enemy a/c while orienting your own plane really increases enjoyment and performance.

However, I also have the fully patched-up version of BoB 2 WoV. I'd like to use TIR with that as well, mainly to experience 6 DOF, but so far no such luck. Firstly, according to the titles list, (in the TIR menu) the sim is only configured for 2 DOF (yaw/pitch, not the full six). I've tried, but I can't seem to change this. You can't tick the empty boxes. Secondly, although I've checked the TIR boxes in the sim, and the blue light appears on the TIR receiver, TIR doesn't appear to affect your views in the sim (not at all).

I assume I must have failed to do something but I'm having no luck figuring out what, or indeed, if this is actually the problem.

Finally, do you know if mouse emulation works in COD 4? I've activated mouse emulation n the TIR folder before starting up the game but it doesnt appear to effect game views at all.

Any help with this stuff would be much appreciated.

Thanks

How to turn on the TrackIR in BoB2:wov

Start Battle of Britain II.
Click on "Options"
Click "Adv."
Click "Game"
Place a check mark in the box next to "TrackIR". Also check "TrackIR Vector Expansion" if you have the expansion.

The check boxes - for the game name have no influence of the game 6DOF - the profile to the right of the game name does ( default for BOB is combat flight profile)

Currently mouse emulation for COD4 is not supported, as it appears that they use a propritary mouse view driver within the game
