Amount of cameras
Amount of cameras
I am new to motion capturing, and I have a question. How many camera's should I use for a basic movie, and to build basic motion capture skills? I've heard from the FAQ that 8 is recommended, but I would like to know from users, not just who ever writes that FAQ. If you have anything else to recommend for a new user, feel free to tell me!

Nebenator:
6 cameras is the minimum to start off with... which will give you good results if you are not looking to capture something really wild.. I started off with 6 and used this setup for about 6 months or so... now I have 8
If you have the budget, go for 8... if not, 6 is a good place to start, for one thing... you will have to learn how to correctly setup your cameras and get good calibration so that you can get the best results... more cameras are more forgiving...
Hope this helps

Re: Amount of cameras
Hi Nebenator,
Im a spanish user, I use 8 cameras setup, and works fine here, for dancing people and all tipe of movements, less when the actors ease up in the ground.
The most important for me is the calibration with stable light conditions and a big room 6 x 6 meter or more if possible.
hope this help
cheers
