I did a search and read a lot of threads looking for my problem, yet... I didn't find any that fall into my particular crashing..
It used to work fine till I had to reinstall with the latest drivers. Ok, so now, I launch TrackIR3Pro with the expansion and all is well. It tracks my head movements in all directions... I'll either then minimize or let it be..I'll launch my game, let's say... Flaming Cliffs, little blue light comes on and when I select a mission it then crashes. It simply crashes, but the blue light stays lit.
No error messages, just a "PING" sound and nothing else..
I uninstalled several times, making sure to reboot every time in between uninstall and install phases.. I made sure to install with TrackIR unplugged.. Nothing helps....

Re: TrackIR3 Pro+Expansion Crashing
What version of Windows are you running?
What version of the TrackIR software?
Have you tried the device on another system?
Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?
Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?
Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

Re: TrackIR3 Pro+Expansion Crashing
I'm running XP Home Pro
I own Track IR3 Pro with Expansion Pack
I can't try it on any other system
It was working for ever on a Hub.. then it stated crashing.. I have uninstalled and plugged it directly to the USB on the back of the computer and stll crashes when I choose a mission on Lock-On FC, and I have to ALT/CTRL Delete and shut Track IR Off..
It gives me no error message at all.. It just locks up after the Ding sound and...CRASH !!
Everything works great on the HUB and USB Ports on my PC..
I have again uninstalled it completely.
Can you direct me to the correct patch for TrackIR3 Pro?
Any step by step installation hints would be helpfull..
One thing I noticed..
I unplug the cord to the USB.. Then Install the software and updates. It shows TrackIR is installed... I reboot and plug in the TrackIR cord to back of PC.. It then automatically wants to install it again...
I thought it had to be unplugged when installing..

Re: TrackIR3 Pro+Expansion Crashing
When you uninstalled, and reinstalled, did you delete the Naturaloint folder as well?
Latest software 4.1.036
https://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06 ... nuals.html
When installing the software/hardware - The first step is to install the software. When you plug in the hardware, the system then need to detect the device and install the drivers to the system folder. The drivers were installed into the TrackIR folder, when the software installed, but Windows then needs to find them when it installs the hardware.

Re: TrackIR3 Pro+Expansion Crashing
So I, Uninstall and delete it's folder too?
If so, I never deleted the actual folder.. before I reinstalled.. I'll give it a try !!
So, I'll download and install using 4.1.036, with the hardware unplugged. Then reboot... Plug the hardware after reboot and let it install the drivers as it asks. I'll direct it to the TrackIR folder in the system, so it installs. Then I reboot again and it should be able to work.. OK
I'll follow your lead !!

Re: TrackIR3 Pro+Expansion Crashing
Shouldn't even need to reboot.
