nav lights on but device not working

My device is simply not working. All the lights are on but the cursor is not moving.

My machine is the Hewlett-Packard desktop. I'm running VISTA.
I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the device. That worked briefly, and then once again nothing from the device... no cursor movement.

1 minute was working and the next it was not. My smartnav is about six years old. I'm thinking it's either dying on me, and I'm going back to give the new smartnav. The other possibility is that it is not compatible with vista. Which is it?

What version of the software are you using?

Are you connecting directly into the PC, or using a hub?

Whne looking at the tracking screen, do you see other IR objects in the background?

The version is the latest driver� 3.20.35

I'm plugged in directly into the PC

There is no other IR objects in the background.


However, I so far no longer having any problems since I

1. Unplugged and then pluged back in my smartnav device

and then

2. turned off hibernation mode/energy save mode.

I have answered your questions in case I continue to have problems.
