New Driver problem
New Driver problem
I run Vista Home Permium 6.0.6001 SP1 build 6001 and until now my TrackIR4 has been working fine. I recently downloaded and installed Version 4.1.036 - Final via the autoupdate feature on the IR tarcker software and it's stopped working. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling earler drivers but all I get is a Vista message saying that the tracker has stopped working. This is annoying as everything was working ok before. How do I resolve this?
Re: New Driver problem
Further to my mail above I've tried the tracker on another PC still running XP & it works fine so it's not a hardware issue. When I first installed the new driver it gave the message that it was not a valid Win32 application.

Re: New Driver problem
I have had several e-mails with naturalpoint but none have resolved the problem.
I think the download of the updated software must have been corrupted but even uninstalling (including deleting the directory) isn't working. I'm pretty new to Vista so there may be a 'permissions' issue here (although I'm at a loss to think why as all worked ok before).
Could the registry have become corrupted?
Any suggestions into how to turn my computer ornament back into something functional would be greatly appreciated.

Re: New Driver problem
OK, problem solved. After going around in circles for several days Vincent suggested installing to a different directory than the default and - voila - it works again (thanks Vincent). The theory is that, despite deleting the Naturalpoint directory during the uninstall/install process, Vista retained some of the previous files/structure that caused the corruption in the 1st place (any Vista experts out there your opinion would be most welcome!).
